Quick Start Guide

Get up and running in under 5 minutes. Follow these steps to set up your account and start your first workout.

Step 1: Create Your Account

  1. 1Visit the GetFitXP login page
  2. 2Click "Sign up free"
  3. 3Enter your email address and create a password
  4. 4Verify your email if required
  5. 5Log in to your new account

Step 2: Set Up Your Equipment

  1. 1Open the sidebar menu and tap Equipment
  2. 2Select all equipment you have access to (Home, Gym, etc.)
  3. 3The app will filter exercises based on your available equipment

Step 3: Choose Your Exercises

  1. 1Go to Exercises from the main navigation bar
  2. 2Browse or search for exercises
  3. 3Tap any exercise card to select it for your routine
  4. 4Selected exercises appear at the top and are included in your schedule

Start with 10–15 exercises and expand over time.

Step 4: Configure Your Plan

  1. 1Open the sidebar and tap Plan
  2. 2Choose which days are workout days vs. rest days
  3. 3Set your available workout start and end times for each day
  4. 4Adjust your daily exercise limit (1–10 exercises per day)

Step 5: Start Your First Workout

  1. 1Go to Schedule (sidebar) to see your personalized workout plan
  2. 2Tap "Do Now" on any exercise to begin
  3. 3Log your sets using the timer and input fields
  4. 4Tap "Save Workout" when finished

Sessions (Workout History)

View and manage all your logged workouts. Access via the Sessions tab in the top navigation bar.

Viewing Sessions

  • Browse all past workouts in chronological order
  • Use the search bar to find specific exercises (fuzzy search)
  • See personal best markers on applicable sessions
  • Each session shows exercise name, date, status, sets, reps, weight, and time

Editing a Session

  1. 1Tap the edit icon (pencil) on any session
  2. 2Modify date/time, status (completed/skipped), sets, reps, weight, time, or routes
  3. 3Tap "Save Changes"

Re-doing an Exercise

Tap the play icon on any session to be taken to the exercise session page with that exercise pre-loaded.

Exercises Library

The comprehensive exercise database with hundreds of exercises. Access via the Exercises tab in the top navigation bar.

Filters & Search

  • Available Equipment (default) β€” shows exercises matching your equipment
  • No Equipment β€” bodyweight-only exercises
  • Distance-Based β€” cardio/running exercises
  • Selected Only β€” shows only your selected exercises
  • All Exercises β€” complete database
  • Tag Filtering β€” multi-select by muscle group or exercise type
  • Search β€” find by name, description, tags, equipment, or body part

Selecting Exercises

Tap any exercise card to add it to your selection. Selected exercises appear with a highlighted border and are sorted to the top. They are included in your personalized schedule.

Exercise Card Details

  • Exercise name and description
  • Color-coded tags (muscle groups, exercise type)
  • Category badge (Free Weight, Machine, Bodyweight, Cardio, etc.)
  • Equipment required
  • Body parts targeted
  • Your personal bests (if any)
  • "Do Now" button to start immediately

Schedule

Your personalized workout schedule. Access via Schedule in the sidebar menu.

How It Works

The system analyzes your selected exercises, workout availability windows, rest day preferences, and training frequency. It applies training principles like muscle group recovery, exercise variety, and progressive overload to generate an optimal schedule.

Viewing Your Schedule

  • Exercises grouped by date (Today, Tomorrow, etc.)
  • Shows exercise name, description, and your personal bests
  • Tap "Do Now" to start any exercise immediately

Logging a Workout Session

The workout logging interface. Accessed via Schedule, Exercises, or Sessions.

Using the Timer

  • Start/Stop β€” control the workout timer
  • Reset β€” clear the timer
  • Manual Entry β€” tap the time display to type in MM:SS or HH:MM:SS format

Input Fields by Exercise Type

Strength Exercises

Reps (+/- buttons or direct input) Β· Weight (+/- buttons or direct input)

Time-Based Exercises

Timer is used automatically. Reps not applicable.

Distance-Based Exercises

Distance (km, +/- 0.1 or 0.5 increments) Β· Routes (select saved routes)

Logging Sets

  1. 1Enter your reps, weight, time, or distance
  2. 2Tap "Log Set"
  3. 3The set appears in your Logged Sets list
  4. 4Tap any set to edit its time

Saving Your Workout

  1. 1Tap "Save Workout"
  2. 2A confirmation toast appears
  3. 3You're redirected to the Dashboard
  4. 4Your session now appears in Sessions history

Stats

Comprehensive statistics tracking. Access via the Stats tab in the top navigation bar.

Health Stats Tab

  • View enabled health metrics at a glance (Stat Cards)
  • Tap + to log new entries
  • Progress charts appear after 3 or more entries
  • Browse and manage all logged entries
  • Available stats: Weight, Body Fat %, Waist Circumference, Sleep Hours, Resting Heart Rate, and more
  • Enable stats in Settings β†’ Stats tab

Personal Bests Tab

  • All your personal records organized by exercise
  • Shows best 1RM, best volume, timed bests
  • Displays in your preferred weight unit (kg or lb)

Time Trials

Track your running, cycling, and other cardio routes. Access via Time Trials in the sidebar menu.

Creating Routes

  1. 1Go to Time Trials β†’ Routes tab
  2. 2Tap "Add Route"
  3. 3Enter a route name, optional location, distance (km or miles), and optional elevation
  4. 4Set as active or inactive
  5. 5Save the route

Performance Tab

  • Route Selector β€” switch between your saved routes
  • Stats Cards β€” Total Runs, Best Time, Average Time, Average Pace
  • Performance Chart β€” visual progress over time
  • History List β€” all time trials with date, time, and pace

Recording a Time Trial

  1. 1Go to Exercises and select a distance-based exercise (Walk, Run, Cycle)
  2. 2Tap "Do Now"
  3. 3Enter your distance and select your route
  4. 4Use the timer to track duration
  5. 5Save the workout β€” it appears in Time Trials automatically

Achievements

Gamification system with badges and titles. Access via Achievements in the sidebar menu.

Achievement Categories

  • Milestone β€” reach specific totals (workouts, volume, etc.)
  • Streak β€” consecutive day achievements
  • Volume β€” total weight lifted
  • Consistency β€” regular training habits
  • Variety β€” trying different exercises

Unlocking Achievements

  • Achievements are tracked automatically β€” no manual action needed
  • You receive a toast notification when an achievement is earned
  • A badge is added to your collection
  • XP is awarded for each achievement
  • Special titles are awarded for major achievements

Plan

Configure your training week. Access via Plan in the sidebar menu.

Setting Up Your Week

  • Daily Exercise Limit β€” set how many different exercises per day (1–10)
  • For each day of the week: toggle "Rest Day" for recovery days
  • Set start time and end time for your workout window
  • The AI will only schedule exercises within these hours

Equipment

Manage your available equipment. Access via Equipment in the sidebar menu. Your selection determines which exercises appear in your schedule.

Settings & Customization

Configure the app to your preferences. Access via Settings in the sidebar menu.

General Tab

  • Workout Reminders β€” enable/disable notifications
  • Follow-up Reminder Interval β€” 0–60 minutes
  • Workout Mode β€” Home, Gym, or Away
  • Weight Unit β€” Kilograms (kg) or Pounds (lb)
  • Confirm Skips β€” require confirmation before skipping workouts
  • Gamification β€” enable/disable Level, Achievements, and Daily Challenges

Theme Tab

  • Light/Dark Mode β€” toggle between themes
  • Color Themes β€” choose from preset color schemes
  • Accent Colors β€” customize highlight colors

Categories Tab

Ignore exercise categories you don't want. Ignored categories are automatically filtered from your schedule.

Stats Tab

Enable the health metrics you want to track: Weight, Body Fat %, Waist Circumference, Sleep Hours, Resting Heart Rate, and more.

Data Management

⚠️ Clear Exercise History

Removes all workout logs. Keeps settings and selected exercises. Type β€œCLEAR” to confirm. Cannot be undone.

πŸ—‘οΈ Delete All Data

Complete account reset. Removes everything permanently. Type β€œDELETE” to confirm. Cannot be undone.

Gamification & Motivation

GetFitXP uses gamification to keep you motivated and consistent. Enable or disable it in Settings β†’ General β†’ Gamification.

Experience Points (XP)

Earn XP for completing workouts, achieving personal bests, unlocking achievements, and maintaining streaks.

Level System

Progress through levels by accumulating XP. Each level represents increased training consistency and achievement.

Daily Challenges

  • Each day offers a new challenge
  • Complete a specific workout
  • Try a new exercise
  • Meet a volume target
  • Earn bonus XP for completing challenges

Troubleshooting

Common issues and how to fix them.

No Exercises Showing in Schedule

  • Check that exercises are selected in the Exercises library
  • Verify equipment is properly configured in the Equipment page
  • Ensure at least one workout day is not marked as a Rest Day in Plan

Personal Bests Not Calculating

  • Ensure workouts are logged with proper sets
  • Weight-based exercises need weight entered (not zero)
  • Time-based exercises need the timer used or time manually entered

Timer Not Working

  • Check browser permissions for notifications
  • Ensure JavaScript is enabled in your browser
  • Try manual time entry β€” tap the timer display and type MM:SS

Data Not Saving

  • Check your internet connection
  • Verify you are still logged in (try refreshing the page)
  • If the issue persists, log out and back in

Glossary

Key terms used throughout GetFitXP.

1RM

One Rep Maximum β€” the heaviest weight you can lift for one repetition of an exercise.

Exercise

A specific movement or activity in the exercise library.

PB

Personal Best β€” your best recorded performance for a specific exercise.

Session

A single workout occurrence β€” one exercise logged at a specific date and time.

Set

One attempt at an exercise, e.g., 10 reps of bench press.

Rep

A single repetition of an exercise movement.

Route

A saved path for distance-based exercises like running or cycling.

XP

Experience Points β€” the gamification currency earned by completing workouts and achievements.

Rest Day

A day marked as recovery β€” no exercises will be scheduled by the AI.

Workout Mode

A setting (Home/Gym/Away) that determines your equipment context.
